Portraits, I find require as much if not more from the subject(s), as from me.
Carol and Sid learned to ignore the camera and me. This allowed me to capture them having fun with each other. The result made a memorable picture.
Emily later told me that she spent hours looking at the composite photograph remembering her life in the house from the time she was a young bride to the present. The allusion to the Renaissance was deliberate on my part.
